A proprietary trading firm (prop firm) lends you trading capital after you pass an evaluation. You pay a one-time fee, trade a demo account under set rules, and if you reach the profit target without breaking a loss limit, you get a funded account. You then keep most of the profit you make, usually 80% to 100%, while the firm carries the capital risk.
For a trader with a good strategy but a small account, this is the fastest way to trade $50,000 to $300,000 without risking that money yourself. The fee is the most you can lose.
Our team buys or audits a challenge at each firm and re-checks the rules every month. Each firm gets a score from five checks:
Most failed challenges break a drawdown rule, not the profit target. Learn which type a firm uses before you buy. On a $50K account with a 10% limit, these three rules can behave very differently:
Swing traders who hold through volatility do better with a static drawdown. Intraday scalpers can handle a trailing or end-of-day rule, because they rarely sit in large open losses.
A $49 challenge with a $130 activation fee costs more than a $99 challenge with none. Apply the coupon code first so you compare firms on equal terms.
Check the first payout waiting period, the minimum withdrawal, any consistency rule (for example, no single day can be more than 30% to 50% of total profit) and the payment methods, such as bank transfer, crypto or Rise.
Make sure the firm offers the platform you know, such as MT5, cTrader, DXtrade, Match-Trader or TradeLocker, and the markets you trade. Commissions on indices and gold vary a lot between firms.
Look for rules on news trading, weekend holding, expert advisors, copy trading and hedging across accounts. Breaking one of these can cancel a funded account even when it is in profit.
Good firms raise your account size and profit split after consistent profitable months. If you plan to trade full time, the scaling plan matters more than the starting size.

There is no single best prop firm for everyone. On our list, GFunded hold the top user rating, Hola Prime offers the largest single account (300K) and FTUK has the biggest coupon (30% off with code MYFB30). Pick the firm whose drawdown rules, platform and payout schedule fit how you trade.
A two-step challenge for a $50K account usually costs between about $250 and $400 before discounts. The coupon codes on this page cut that price by up to 30%. Many firms refund the fee with your first payout.
Established prop firms are real businesses, but they are not regulated like brokers. Check how long the firm has paid traders, read recent payout reviews, confirm which broker or liquidity provider it uses, and read the full rules before you pay. Avoid firms that change rules after you buy or delay payouts without a clear reason.
DNA Funded offers up to 100% on our list. FTMO and Hola Prime offer up to 95%. Most other firms start at 80% and raise the split as you scale or with paid add-ons.
A static drawdown keeps your loss limit fixed at a set level below the starting balance. A trailing drawdown moves the limit up as your balance makes new highs, so it gets tighter as you win. An end-of-day (EOD) drawdown updates only at the daily close, which gives intraday trades more room.
It depends on the firm and the account type. Many forex prop firms allow expert advisors that you built yourself but ban copy trading between accounts, latency arbitrage and tick scalping. News trading is often allowed on the challenge but limited on funded accounts. Always check the firm's trading rules page first.
Copy the code from the table, open the firm's checkout page, choose your account size and paste the code into the discount or promo field before you pay. The price should update straight away. Codes can't usually be combined with other sales, so compare the coupon with any site-wide offer the firm is running.
Payout timing ranges from on-demand requests processed within 24 hours to bi-weekly or monthly cycles. The first payout often has a minimum waiting period, such as 14 or 21 days after you get funded.
