Capital.com Adds Stock and ETF Investing Across Europe
Capital.com has expanded its platform to include direct investments in stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for clients in its European markets. The new offering adds long-term investing options alongside the platform's existing short-term trading products.
A Broader Range of Choices
Capital.com says the launch reflects the different ways clients participate in financial markets. Some act on short-term market views, while others build investments they plan to hold for years. The company's "Better Decisions" principle guides the platform's approach: clients should have access to products that fit their goals. Direct stock and ETF ownership now gives long-term investors another option on the platform.
Clients can choose from more than 2,280 stocks and ETFs listed in U.S. and European markets, including companies based in Europe. Capital.com charges no commission on stock or ETF investments.
The products are available to eligible clients in almost all of Capital.com's European Economic Area markets. Stocks aren't yet available in Belgium or Spain. ETFs aren't available in Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, or Iceland, although stock investing is available in those countries.
Execution-Only Service
Capital.com provides stock and ETF investing on an execution-only, non-advised basis. The company doesn't recommend which investments clients should buy. Clients can access the products after completing Capital.com's standard onboarding process for new offerings. The company's regulated entities hold client assets under their applicable safeguarding arrangements.
Christoforos Soutzis, CEO Europe at Capital.com, said clients often use the same platform for both short-term trades and long-term investments. He added that the company is expanding its products so clients can choose between the two approaches in one place.
The launch supports Capital.com's plan to meet a wider range of client needs while retaining its existing platform approach.
Sasha Gubochkin, Chief Product Officer at Capital.com, said each new product, whether on the website or app, should help clients better understand their situation before making a decision. He said the stock and ETF offering follows the same design principles as the rest of the platform, with clear information and less pressure to act.
Clients can use Capital.com's existing research, charting, and portfolio tools with their stock and ETF investments. These resources are available for both long-term holdings and short-term positions.
The company plans to bring stock and ETF investing to other markets, including the UAE and the UK, in the coming months.
